CLP labelling guidance

ECHA has published a guidance on labelling and packaging in accordance with the CLP Regulation.

There are several examples for the appropriate package design.

The selection of Precautionary statements (P-phrases) makes the biggest part of this guide. The authors from authorities and industry have choosen a pragmatic approach. For the single Hazard classes and categories a suitable and manageable set of P-phrases – tagged with the labels “Highly recommended”, “Recommended” and “Optional” – is listed.

You can download the document here.

For HSM NAV Prosisoft provides a post-processing within the frame of the FCC GHS rule set. After this processing, in many cases the number of P-phrases is below the “magic” number of 6 (Art. 6 CLP Regulation). The principles of precedence for H-phrases and pictograms may be considered as well.
